Friends of Christian Radio embraces a unique need. Over 1 million people in communities adjacent to the WFRN listening area did not have the light of full family contemporary Christian radio. So, when the opportunity came, Friends of Christian Radio made application to the FCC for FM repeater stations so they could bring WFRN to these needy communities.

Since the founding of Friends of Christian Radio in 1994, ten repeater stations have been placed on the air. The remaining applications have yet to receive final approval from the FCC.
